Fleshtones & Form: exploring limited Palettes

Mondays 10-1 p.m. // 4 weeks $250

January 9, 16, 23, and 30

In this course, students will learn how to utilize a limited palette to convincingly recreate flesh and 3 dimensional form in their figure paintings. Starting with a basic template of colors, students will use different variations based off this initial flesh tone palette over the course based off different strategies related to chroma, transparency and opacity so they can learn how different pigments operate, and which strategies might work best for their own work. The conceptual will be integrated with the optical to create a comprehensive strategy for interpreting flesh.

This course is offered under continual enrollment - feel free to call and inquire if there are any spots available and we can pro-rate you for the remaining semester. Materials will differ from student to student based on the assignment. Please see the material list page on this website to find which supplies will apply to you (painting or drawing are both listed.)
