I’m excited to launch a new monthly series: “Dialogos: Conversations on Art” where I present a slide show lecture on a topic related to painting and drawing, followed by a Q&A.
June 12th, Learn about the history of how we understand color - from the very beginnings of art history, to Impressionism and the invention of modern pigments.
This conversation will cover not just the history of ideas around color, but present an approach for studying color for the art student in today’s world. Refreshments will be provided!
Portrait drawing with Jeanya Charles

This 3-hour portrait drawing workshop invites students to explore the structure and planes of the head. Through guided studies, we will learn how to establish a likeness by prioritizing larger forms over smaller details, and how to construct a portrait by understanding the relationships between the different regions of the face. The skills developed in this workshop will provide foundation for portrait drawing and painting, while also deepening students’ understanding of how light interacts with the form of the model.

Come paint the figure with me this June along the French Mediterranean!
This course offers instruction in painting the human figure from a live model. Students will explore color, anatomy, and expressive technique to capture the vitality and form of the human body. No experience necessary.
